According to IEEE1722 and 1722.1 Standard there is no limit of 7hops. It depends on the network speed 100MBit or 1GB or 10GB. Also what Class the AVB network is. The latency is specified as maximum 2ms in the sense that each device msut be able to buffer 2ms but there is no minimum 2ms. This is simply wrong.
Dante is using a proprietary control protocol that is using IP technology for transport of the control protocol. It should not be mixed to with open standards for Control like IEEE1722.1.
