The [[Bount]]s are a clan of humans with supernatural powers comparable to that of the Quincy. Bounts consume spirits in place of food, which allows them to live longer; theoretically, a Bount could live forever given steady access to spirits. Bounts traditionally don't consume the souls of living humans, as it is an ancient [[taboo]] and also causes aging, defeating the purpose of absorbing souls to remain young. According to Urahara, the Bounts are called vampires in certain parts of the world. Like shinigami, Bounts can seal their power in inanimate objects. Unlike shinigami, they do not create [[zanpakutō]], but dolls with various special abilites. Additionally, unlike zanpakutō, the dolls have active personalities and can operate independently.
