:Has it any remit at all for education in Scotland? Surely a devolved matter.... [[User:Dave souza|dave souza]], [[User talk:Dave souza|talk]] 09:39, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

There are a very small number of areas where DfES still has some responsibility for Wales and that may be subject to further devolution. http://www.dfes.gov.uk/concordat/03.shtml provides some explanation but this appears not to be fully up to date as Student Funding has I understand now been devolved. The main areas appear to be Pension arrangements for teachers and that bans on unsuitable employees made in England also apply to Wales. rgds, ||:) johnmark† 01:32, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
