reduce list overall, add languages that are leading in their fields (Ada, Lua; both featured in HOPL), remove languages that are alternatives in fields already covered (Obj-C superseded by Swift; Kotlin (like Groovy) exists in the JVM space, dominated by Java; AssemblyScript is niche in the browser world, dominated by JS)
Undo arbitrary removal and re-alphabetise. It's improssible to say which language has been superseded: should Perl be removed because of Python, why is Go more relevant that some others. Whilst I agree this shouldn't become a shopping list of all languages, any removal is going to be arbitrary. Re-adding Kotlin as although it's not very *avoids holy flame war*, it is the advised application development language of the worlds most used mobile operating system
