* This cleanup template can be used to tag pages that use [[Help:HTML_in_wikitext|HTML markup]] that can be replaced with [[Help:Wikitext|Wiki markup]].

* When adding to a page, it is helpful to other editors to specify which tags are unwanted, like this: <code><nowiki>{{cleanup HTML|tags=table, tl, td}}</nowiki><br /code> — These tags will be displayed in the alert box.

* For a list of which tags are unwanted and instructions on how to perform cleanup, see [[:Category:Articles with HTML markup]].

* <code><nowiki>{{Cleanup HTML}}</nowiki></code> puts articles into [[:Category:Articles with HTML markup]] and [[:Category:Articles covered by WikiProject Wikify]]
