==Setting up==
To use an insulin pump, the pump must first be filled with insulin. Some pumps are designed to be used with prefilled cartridges that are replaced when empty. Most however must be filled with insulin of the users choice. This includes:
#Opening a new (sterile) empty pump cartridgereservoir of the manufactures design;
#Attaching the needle (or needle house) to a vial of insulin;
#Drawing insulin into the cartridgereservoir with the plunger, and then removing the needle;
#Squirting out any air bubbles from the cartridgereservoir, and then removing the plunger;
#Attaching the cartridgereservoir to the infusion set tubing;
#Installing the assembly into the pump and priming the tubing;
#Attaching to the infusion "site" (and priming the cannula if new).
