''Robot Alchemic Drive'' è stato sviluppato da Sandlot, un'azienda creata dagli ex dipendenti di [[Human Entertainment]]. Il gioco fu prodotto per essere rivolto sia ai giocatori occasionali che a quelli estremi, così come ai fan dei [[Videogioco d'azione|giochi d'azione]] e dei robot. La parte più difficile della sua produzione fu quella di gestire la differenza di dimensioni degli stessi robot rispetto al personaggio controllato dal giocatore<ref name=GameZone/>.
