Subito dopo il fallimento della ECW, Gerin ha firmato un contratto con la [[WWE|World Wrestling Federation]] (WWF). Nella puntata di ''Raw'' del 19 marzo 2001, Gerin ha fatto il suo debutto con il nome di '''Rhyno''' come ''[[Heel (wrestling)|heel]]'', alleandosi con [[Edge and Christian|Edge e Christian]]. Rhyno ha poi aiutato Edge e Christian a sconfiggere gli [[The Hardy Boyz|Hardy Boyz]] ed i [[The Dudley Boyz|Dudley Boyz]] per il [[World Tag Team Championship (WWE)|WWF Tag Team Championship]] in un [[Tipi di match di wrestling#Tables, Ladders and Chairs match|Tables, Ladders and Chairs match]] a [[WrestleMania X-Seven]]. Nella puntata di ''SmackDown'' del 17 aprile, Rhyno ha sconfitto [[Kane (wrestler)|Kane]] per vincere l'[[WWE Hardcore Championship|Hardcore Championship]], che ha poi difeso a [[Backlash (2001)|Backlash]], contro [[Raven (wrestler)|Raven]]. A [[Judgment Day (2001)|Judgment Day]], Rhyno, Edge, Christian e [[Kurt Angle]] hanno formato una ''[[Terminologia del wrestling#Stable|stable]]'' conosciuta come "Team RECK", i quali hanno raggiunto le semifinali del torneo [[King of the Ring]] nell'[[King of the Ring (2001)|omonimo pay-per-view]], che è stato vinto da Edge.

Nella metà del 2001 Rhyno vince tre volte il [[WWE Hardcore Championship]]. Il 23 settembre 2001 batte Tajiri ad Unforgiven vincendo il [[WWE United States Championship|WCW United States Championship]], perso il 22 ottobre in una puntata di Raw contro Kurt Angle. Successivamente subisce un grave infortunio.
