:{{re|Rhododendrites}} When I drafted that principle my intention was actually to say that groups are encouraged to ''allow anyone to join''{{snd}}indeed I used your group and affiliates like it as an example, as you allow any Wikimedian in good standing to join. I recognize that could be ambiguous though.
