Tuckahoe is located at 40°54'1" North, 72°26'9" West (40.900340, -72.435816)[[Geographic references#1{{GR|¹]]}}.

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the CDP has a total area of 14.3 [[square kilometer|km²]] (5.5 [[square mile|mi²]]). 13.1 km² (5.1 mi²) of it is land and 1.2 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 8.17% water.

As of the [[census]][[Geographic references#2{{GR|²]]}} of [[2000]], there are 1,741 people, 687 households, and 456 families residing in the CDP. The [[population density]] is 132.8/km² (343.9/mi²). There are 1,092 housing units at an average density of 83.3/km² (215.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 84.26% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 7.29% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.69% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.75% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.06% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 5.28% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.67% from two or more races. 18.44% of the population are [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race.

There are 687 households out of which 29.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.1% are [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 9.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.6% are non-families. 27.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.51 and the average family size is 2.95.
