The [[Smooth-leaved Elm]] ''U. minor'' subsp. ''minor '' cultivar '''Sowerbyi''' was described (as ''U. nitens'' var. ''sowerbyi'' Moss) by Moss in ''Cambr. Brit. Fl.'' 2: 90. [[1914]], as a smaller tree than [[Hunnybunii (elm cultivar)|Hunnybunii]], the branches shorter and the upper ones very tortuous; leaves smaller and acute; frequently planted. The tree is not known to remain in cultivation.
