:WFM, just in case I replaced the broken original URL by a working URL keeping the archived-URL with dead=no. Be..anyone (talk) 05:31, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

Compressed MiDi Format
I have encountered compressed MODule music,
in format Like:

MDZ for Zip

MDR for Rar

MD7 for 7zip

not just for MOD format, but for others with different extension., like S3M, XM, IT and many others.

And it was handled out of the box by some players,

I would like to ask if there is such Practice for Compressed MiDi Files:

Like Rared, GZipped, XZed 7zipped file

Does some players have more standard procedure for Compressed File Playback?

It is not original research,.

as it is certainly written in code and in specification and documentaries on software development trackers - SVNs like github/gitlub.

But I suppose there would be more people who could wish to know,

as such file formats could be very easily compressed by modern hardware on the fly,

More other it should be included in overall Midi and MODule playback category.

I know there is compression in SoundFont3 format.

But what about other very compressible musical formats? 46.187.207.145 (talk) 15:27, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
