I duplicated the layer, clipped out an area of good hair, rotated that area to fit over the highlight, adjusted colours to fit with surrounding area, and erased the edge to make the fit a bit cleaner. It's still an obvious modification, and I wouldn't consider it much of an improvement (if any). Feel free to upload improvements over the top of that one. :::I was playing with this at the same time - so here's my effort. I took a different approach and selected the highlight areas with a threshold mask, feathered the area, then painted them with a darker hair colour to create an adjustment layer. It's at about 50% opacity here, and I have the source file, so I can increase or decrease that if you think it's any good. That's straightened based on the lettering, since the geometry of the thing is all over the place. If you try to straighten based on the cutouts, the lettering runs uphill and looks wrong.
