On 27the 27th of June 2023, at approximately 7:55 a.m. [[Central European Summer Time|CEST]], two [[Paris Police Prefecture]] officers spotted a [[Mercedes-AMG]] with a Polish registration plate speeding along a bus lane on Boulevard Jacques-Germain-Soufflot in [[Hauts-de-Seine]], [[Île-de-France]] heading towards the [[Nanterre-Université station|Nanterre-Université rail station]]. The officers stopped the driver [[Nahel Merzouk]] who attempted to drive away; one officer fired at him at 8:16 am.
