With the arrival of P3D v4, the 747, 777 and 737 aircraft are being freely upgraded from P3D v3 (32 bit) to P3D v4 (64 bit). On the 29th July 2022, PMDG released their first variant of the much loved, and sought after, Boeing 737 family. The -700 variant was the first to release, followed by the -600, -800 and -900. The order of release for the different variants was seen by many as a money grab, used to push sales of -700 variant to fans eager to get their hands on the 737, before going on to purchase the more popular -800 variant later on, however PMDG strongly denies these allegations. The release was a great success for both PMDG and Microsoft Flight Simulator, signifying the beginning of high-fidelity addons for the fairly new platform. On the date of release, the website was unable to handle the number of simultaneous orders, showing the amount of people eager to purchase the PMDG 737 through the outdated, PHP coded website.
