Dale Mary Adeline Garratt was raised in Auckland, and David Reginald Garratt in [[Dunedin]]. They met at a [[Youth for Christ|Youth For Christ NZ]] concert in [[Wellington]] in 1962.<ref name=":4" /><ref name=":2" />
