Mathematical operators and symbols are in multiple Unicode blocks. Some of these blocks are dedicated to, or primarily contain, mathematical characters while others are a mix of mathematical and non-mathematical characters. Computer systems allow the input of specific unicode characters in different ways, on Windows unicode characters can be typed utilizing <kbd>Alt</kbd> + Numpad combinations where <kbd>Alt</kbd> has to remain pressed untill the unicode number is entered. MacOS may use the <kbd>Option</kbd> key followed by four diget number instead. Linux and other Unix variants may use the key combination <kbd>Strg</kbd>+<kbd>Shift</kbd> to remain pressed for typing unicode characters.
