Line 1: The User Mode Driver Framework is also availible in Windows XP (and maybe other versions as well). It wasn't "first introduced with Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system" as the author claims. it was available from the beginning in windows 2003 server and was added as an update in windows xp service pack 2. for verification just check the list of services on a fresh windows 2003 server install which includes both Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework and Windows User Mode Driver Framework
