Its administrative centre is the city of [[Dnipro]]. The population is {{Ua-pop-est2022\|1,145,065\|.}} On 18 July 2020, as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, the number of raions of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast was reduced to seven, and the area of Dnipro Raion was significantly expanded.
