I did find a mention of it in Library of Congress ( https://hdl.loc.gov/loc.mss/eadmss.ms998010.3 ) but that appears to be just a typed draft of an article that may or may not have made it into the magazine. Also, I found several not-reliable websites that purport to have the text of the article, but I need a trustworthy source.

You might prefer to cite [https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-washington-herald-sanger/163227536/ this clipping], which has the whole page but is slightly more difficult to read.
