Images enable many people to learn more effectively, and allow technical concepts to be communicated in a more concise and clear manner. Diagrams should be clearly described and where appropriate, should be related to the text or equations. As readers often examine figures and captions before turning to the surrounding text, it is usually best to avoid using newly introduced jargon in captions. Some templates that might be useful:

* {{tlx|Location map}}: to overlay onea marker + label onto a map/image;
* {{tlx|Location map many}}: to overlay many markers + labels onto a map/image (up to 9 markers);
* {{tlx|Superimpose}}: to overlay onto an unbordered image, such as open diagrams.
