Transportation-wise, Sargans is an important regional node. The [[A3 (Switzerland)|A3]] national motorway ends at Sargans; the portion north toward [[St. Margrethen]] and the portion east toward [[Landquart]], [[Chur]], [[San Bernardino, California|San Bernardino]] and ultimately [[Bellinzona]] are all part of the [[A13 (Switzerland)|A13]] national motorway. Trains heading north toward [[St. Gallen]], east toward [[Chur]] and [[Ticino]], and toward [[Austria]], all pass through Sargans. Buses heading toward [[Liechtenstein]] also leave Sargans.
