When updating this page after a new release of iOS, please update all instances of the version (x3), date (x2) and reference (x2). {{em|For now}}, please update [[Template:Current iOS/short|this template's short version]] as well. (It is also likely that {{tl|Current iPadOS}} will need updating too.)

References should cite first-party Apple.com web pages (found at [https://support.apple.com/en-us/121161 support.apple.com/en-us/121161] and [https://support.apple.com/100100 support.apple.com/100100]).

When transitioning to a new major release (i.e., when a new release is announced at [[WWDC]]), if any models are stuck on the current release, create a new template[[Wikipedia:Switch|#switch]] tree for those models first (in this case, {{tl|Current iOS 18}}), and apply that new parameter to all relevant articles {{em|before}} updating this template for the newer release. (Eg: In 2026, iOS 26 will be replaced by iOS 27, and a new tree {{em|may}} be needed for 26.)
