No matter how great Morse code is in some contexts, prisoners do not seem to have found it to be as convenient or useful as tap code in most cases. For tap code, all you need is your fist and a wall, while for Morse code, you need something else in addition, and that something else could then be taken away by the jailers, or if the something else makes a louder noise than your fist when it hits the wall, then it could cause the jailers to become suspicious, etc. etc... This article says that C and K share a tap code, whereas the linked article for the Polybius square says that I and J share a tap code. Which is correct?
