Leopold "Butters" Stotch (voiced by [[Matt Stone]]) has a large tuft of blonde hair on top of his head, and wears an aquamarine jacket with green pants. He speaks with a distinctive, stuttering South Carolina-esque accent, and he is secretly the evil villain of South Park, Professor Chaos. The character is loosely based on ''South Park'' director of animation [[Eric Stough]].

Butters is a nervous, naive, unlucky and gullible character. Despite this, he is one of the most optimistic and genuine kids in South Park. Butters draws little respect from his fellow students and is always chosen for dangerous or menial tasks that the others do not want to do. Butters first appeared as a backround supporting character and first emerged as a main character in the fifth season [[Butters' Very Own Episode]] as the fourth friend when Kenny died permanently. Since then he was fired as the fourth friend but has remained a prominent character in the series. He still has a close relationship to the other four boys, mainly as Cartman's sidekick and slave. he will talk in a nervous voice ( when you have a hard time talking to people).
