== Biografia ==
Quinta di sei fratelli, Jan Maxwell era la figlia del giudice Ralph B. Maxwell e dell'avvocato Elizabeth Fargusson Maxwell. Nel 2006 le fu diagnositcato il [[cancro al seno]], una malattia che le si ripresentò nel 2013 in forma metastatica.
