Returning to the topic, I would seriously suggest ruling out browser/viewer/font issues. The "other" spelling that you cite (for hi-1 to hi-4) looks absolutly right to me. Do you see a dotted circle belwo the "ee ki matra" in ur browser when u spell it your way?
In fact the Singh in your signature also looks spelled wrong, in devnagiri. I guess you are right, there's some problem with the fonts. I would still request you to consider reverting the hi-0 template to that like hi-1 to 4, because I believe that's more likely to appear "correct" on most browsers.
