===Class 3: Flow control connection oriented===
Class 3 service builds upon Class 2, but also allows for expedited (urgent) messages to be sent and received, and for errors in sequencing (segment re-assembly) to be detected and for SCCP to restart a connection should this occur.
The SCCP User Adaptation (SUA), a part of SIGTRAN protocol solution set, defines the transport of SCCP-user messages (MAP & CAP over TCAP, RANAP, etc.) and new third generation network protocol messages over IP between two signaling endpoints using the Stream Control Transport Protocol (SCTP).
SUA provisions a seamless, or as seamless as possible, operation of the SCCP User Protocol peers in the SS7 and IP domains. In simplistic transport terms, SG will terminate SS7 SCCP protocol layer and deliver TCAP or any other SCCP User protocol messages over SCTP transport associations to SCCP-user peers on MGC. This protocol is also used between any two signaling endpoints wholly contained within an IP network.
Following are the architectures in which SUA is deployed:
• All IP Architecture
• Signaling Gateway Architecture
