'''CASS''' ('''Coding Accuracy Support System''') enables the [[United States Postal Service]] to evaluate the accuracy of address-matching software programsthat cleans and matches addresses. CASS is offered to all mailers, service bureaus, and software vendors who want to evaluate their address-matching software and improve the quality of their [[ZIP Code|ZIP]]+4, carrier route, and five-digit coding accuracy.

CASS certified products are listed in U.S. Post Office literature and on their web site. CASS certification only lasts for one calendar year. Applications must be certified again each year by submitting test data to CASS online. The online certification process has greatly improved the turnaround of the program with most results being processed within 24 hours. Each yearly CASS certification requirements are called cycles. The current CASS cycle is named K (valid 2006/8/1 thru 2007/7/31), The upcoming CASS cycle is named L. On the 1st of August, 2007, cycle L will supersede K. Knowingly using CASS software with an outdated certification for certified purposes may result in fines and/or prison sentence.
