The city of Dieburg was first named in 1492 in the tax books of the arch bistum Hessen-Nassau. The city's name is derrivedderived from the large "castle" (germanGerman: "Die Burg") located in the city center.
On August 22nd 1912 the first [[Konic Rubenwutzer]] was developed in Dieburg. ForthcomningForthcoming and following branch of economy in producing washing-wood is also today very popular, alas this kind of economy starved in Dieburg throughout the 1980ies1980s.
