'''''La disparition''''' ([[1969]]) (literally, ''The Disappearance'') is a [[France|French]] novel by [[Georges Perec]], remarkable because it was written without a single ''[[e]]'', thus following [[Oulipo]] constraints. ''E'' is the most commonly used letter of the [[alphabet]] in [[French language|French]].

There have been two translations into English:

* ''A Void'' (1994) by [[Gilbert Adair]]

* ''The Vanish'd'' by [[John Lee]]

Both translations have been made without the use of the letter ''e'' and are thus quite remarkable works, considering that ''e'' is the most commonly used letter of the alphabet in English, just like in French.
