The magic angle &theta;<sub>m</sub> is
: <math> \theta_m = \rm{acos}\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}} = \rm{atan}\sqrt{2} \approx 54.7^\circ</math>,
where acos (or cos<sup>-1</sup>) and atan (or tan<sup>-1</sup>) are the inverse cosine and tangent functions.
 
&theta;<sub>m</sub> is the angle between the space diagonal of a cube and any of it's three connecting edges, see image.
