The '''Open Source Applications Foundation''' ('''OSAF''') is a [[non-profit organization]] founded in 2002 by [[Mitch Kapor]] whose purpose is to effect widespread adoption of [[free software]]/[[open-source software]]. The flagship project is Chandler, a standards based calendar and task manager for small group collaboration. Chandler consists of a [[Chandler (PIM)|Desktop]] application, a Server and the Chandler Hub Sharing Service. The Desktop is a cross-platform application written in Python and runs on Mac, Windows and Linux. The Server, also known as Cosmo, is a CALDAV server written in Java.
The organization underwent a restructuring in January 2008. Mitch Kapor has stepped down from the board and provided the organization with transitional funding through 2008. Katie Capps Parlante is now the acting President. The staff currently consists of 10 employees.
