POST PATTERN

Post pattern is a recieving route that is used in [[canadian]] and [[american]] [[football]]. A predetermined amount of yards is run (usually 5, 10 or 15) before a 45 degree cut towards the middle of the field (ie. the posts in the endzones) is made.
Post pattern is where a lot of touch downs are made. It's a pass play and a big gainer when completed. Think of Jerry Rice...

It's straight up from the left or right and turn to the middle at about 20 yards, and then the receiver gets nailed.
