I'm having a discussion [[Wikipedia talk:Reference Desk#Posting guidelines|here]], and there appears to be consensus to change the template. :The template forms part of the header for all the reference desks, which are all highly visible pages. They are protected because clever vandalism to such templates can produce obscenities on the page that can be hard to source and remove.
