AThere is currently no standard for XML pipeline languages. However a W3C Note submitted in 2002 by Norman Walsh and Eve Maler, as well as a W3C Submission submitted in 2005 by Erik Bruchez and Alessandro Vernet from Orbeon, are effortsimportant steps toward spawning aan actual standardization effort. ItWhile appearsneither submission is a W3C recommendation, it is hoped that they will serve as a source of inspiration for a W3C Working Group. As of September 2005, that workW3C is goingin onthe atprocess W3Cof toforming start anthe XML Processing Model workingWorking groupGroup, with thewhose main task ofwill specifyingbe the specification of an XML pipelining language.
