The '''Indian Space Research Organisation Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network''' ('''ISTRAC''') provides mission support to near-earth [[satellites]] and launch vehicle missions for the [[India]]n space program (ISRO). ISTRAC has a network of ground stations at [[Hyderabad, India|Hyderabad]], [[Bangalore]], [[Lucknow]], [[Port Blair]], [[Sriharikota]], and [[Thiruvananthapuram]]. Additionally, ISTRAC has Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TTC) stations at [[Mauritius]], [[Bearslake]] (Russia), [[Biak]] (Indonesia) and [[Brunei]]; and a multi-mission Spacecraft Control Centre is located at [[Bangalore]].

Currently, ISTRAC supports 6 satellites, and operates Local User Terminal/Mission Control Centre (LUT/MCC) under the international Satellite-Aided Search and Rescue Programme.

BRIEF HISTORY :-

Consquently ,future exploration investments were to be made on more convincing expections and our commitments to the nation were to be made under lesser availability of economic resources.In absence of easy to find hydrocarbon from giants structures,main emphasis came to search of subtle trps and delianation of known fields to maximize the economic value of the fields.Such exploration demand finer study of the sub surface and hence the seismic data with higer fidelity.MDS-16DX and SN 368 line telemetry seismographs from HGS and CGG respectively,capable of recording more than 1000 channels,having built-in roll along facility, were introduced.More and more 3D campaigns were planned. As the needs grew, technology up gradation became in inevitable.DFS V system, which was widely in use, became old.By this time there has been significant development in the acquisition technology.

FIELD SYSTEM

The field crews must have an acquisition management system to generate the SPS format during the survey. Errors will be reduced both during recording and during the generation of the SPS format if automated procedules are introduced at survey set-up and during daily recording.

Figure 1 . shows The main elements of such a system; The Field Database, Topographical computations and 3D recording management are the minimum elements required to support the generation of the SPS format.

* Metrolog had sales of USD $ 11 Million last year. The acquisition is expected to be accretive to CGG Veritas EPS in 2008.
