Signaling Connection and Control Part, from ITU-T recommendation Q.713, is the routing protocol for Signalling System 7 networks. Its function is similar to that of IP on the Internet, given a origination and destination address SCCP delivers the message across multiple hops to the destination machine. SCCP uses two forms of addresses Point Code and Sub System Number or Global Titles.
Point Codes identify a machine and Sub System Numbers identify different services within a machine. Global Titles are translated at a into PC and SSNs at a Signal Transfer Point.
