The pagan reference to the dead on All Soul's Day is also I believe incorrect. Based on the Celtic Samhain and Voudon it is believed that the dead arise to mingle with the living at the feast on Samhain eve, also known as All Hallow's Eve, 31st October. The supposed painting of All Soul's Day by Bouguereau 1859 is actually that of "All Saint's Day". The only public ___domain image I am aware of in relation to All Soul's Day is by Witold Pruszkowski 1888.
