Line 203:
It probably was 1970. I couldn't recall. I would have checked for sure first. The Bears were looking around for a suitable new home, because no matter how many bodies they stuffed into Wrigley, it was still short of the 50,000 that the NFL decreed as the minimum standard around that time. Hence the migration to Soldier Field. They even took the old East Stand temporary bleachers and made them into a North Stand at the lakeside stadium. This was around the time the Bears went 1-13 and lost the rights to Terry Bradshaw to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who also went 1-13. In fact, I think the Bears' only win that year came against the Steelers. Ah, nostalgic memories. Right. [[User:Wahkeenah|Wahkeenah]] 05:29, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
I am pretty sure it was the opening game of 1969 vs. Philadelphia, won 20-16 or some such. [[User:Wahkeenah|Wahkeenah]] 01:05, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
