* [[March 23]], [[1898]]: Elisa Babcock, as agent for the SDERy, buys the properties and franchises of the CTC for $19,000 plus "fees and costs." The track gauge is subsequently widened from 3  [[footFoot (unit of length)|feetft]], 6  [[inch|in]]es to standard gauge.
