Mario Segali
It says that Mario Segali was the warehouse manager. I always thought he was their landlord, though. I don't want to add false information to the article, though. Am I right?

Will people stop changing Mario's name? His full title is Mario Mario, not just 'Mario'. -- Kwekubo 21:10, 20 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Mario's ancestry
Mario is an Italian-American man, born in the Mushroom Kingdom, and raised in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States.

Games missing from the list
There are almost all games featuring Mario in the list, but what about the Gameboy games "Mario & Yoshi" (kind of Tetris) and "Tennis" (Mario is also the referee in the GB-version) ?

What is the source for this? I've been able to find very little about it on the web. Unless it can be attributed to a reliable source, it should be removed. Fredrik 23:35, 14 May 2004 (UTC)

That book sounds like dog crap. And let me guess, Fairly Odd Parents taught the youth of the nation great lessons? Anyone who says that Nintendo zapped the American industry, captured your dollars and enslaved your children is a nasty dog butt! And other things I can't say here!

The thing is, the Super Mario Bros. Movie couldn't have come up with the title, unless Dr. Mario didn't have his last name as Mario, because Dr. Mario came out in 1990.
:I think the Dr. was added nonwithstanding the last name. See also Dr. Wario in Wario Ware. Andre (talk) 22:51, Dec 13, 2004 (UTC)

Way too much information about mario's clothes
Right now, there is way too much information in this article about Mario's clothes and how they have changed over the years. Not only is there an entire section devoted to this, but then we revisit the topic again in the Character development section. This minutia is tedious and unencyclopedic. Could someone please consolidate all of it into something more concise? Thanks! Kaldari 19:37, 18 July 2005 (UTC)
:Aye, I have recognized this as a potential problem. I'm intending on merging this part of Character development and appearance together, eventually. That's probably the best way to handle it. --Shadow Hog 21:16, 18 July 2005 (UTC)

Mario's powers & Paper Mario
I noticed there where no mention on the "powers" Mario have in the Paper Mario "RPG" game. I've only watched a friend play the game a bit so I don't know enough to feel comfortable about adding it myself, but I seem to recall "powers" like turning into a paper plane, rolling up into a cylinder to roll under obsatcles and stuff like that. Shouldn't that also be mentioned in the section descriping the powers Mario gets from the various powerups and suits in the various games? --Sherool 17:05, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

Donkey Kong
There are many, many links to Donkey Kong over the course of the article, most of which refer to the game, Donkey Kong (arcade game) while they POINT to the character, Donkey Kong. Jumpman did not first appear in the character, but the game. This should be fixed? Fantusta 17:27, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

Wario - Improvement Drive
I've nominated Wario for the improvement drive. You can vote for him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:This_week%27s_improvement_drive#Wario_.28August_2.29 While he may not seem like one who can be too much improved, he has a lot of plot, probably just as much as Mario does. Thanks. -- A Link to the Past 00:49, July 27, 2005 (UTC)

The name itself
Why isn't this article about the common first name Mario or simply a disambig page? Another bias towards video games? There are a lot of Marios, and even if this one is probably the most famous (to younger readers) it seems strange that it would be more important than an article about the name similar to William (name) or Stephen.

Baby Mario
While I can see the need for this section to exist (and my guess is that it was merged into this article from its own stub, since it contained an introduction line (which I've removed now) that sounded like it should have been at the top of its own article) I think that its current position is odd within the article right now. I mean, putting it after "Abilities"? Perhaps it would go better somewhat closer to the biography section, perhaps even merged in there as a subsection of biography? It'd require a little rewording, but I think it'd fit better. Any thoughts? Fieari 19:38, August 25, 2005 (UTC)

image captions
Hi there.... me again:). The image captions really should be more towards WP:CAPTION :) - for example "Mario can ride Yoshi in Super Mario World." should be something like "Mario riding Yoshi in Super Mario World. Yoshi is a common theme among mario games and in some such as Super Mario World, Mario can ride Yoshi. In other games yoshi appears as the main character" or something similar. Ryan Norton T | @ | C 00:10, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
:I don't think that is prudent in this case. Since the image is placed within the section describing Mario's abilities, the phrase "Mario can ride..." instead of "Mario riding" emphasises that this is an ability. Jacoplane 00:27, 23 September 2005 (UTC)

Reorganizing image layout
I've been playing around with the layout of images on this page, see the history for details. I felt the old layout was a bit random in terms of placement. Images overlapping section borders are generally not a good idea. But, if anyone feels otherwise, please say so... the changes I've made are very subjective, and we should have consensus on how we feel this page should look.
