Netbooks are typically laptops with screen size smaller (typically 7, 8.9 or 10 inches) that consume less power and could have less memory (because these use SSD instead of hard disks) for using with the network. There are optimized distributions for this machines (for display better in small screen, optimize write in SSD, only install indispensable programs in OS, etc.) called Netbook Distributions{{Fact|date=May 2009}}.
