In 2007, an associated one-day event, '''CommunityOne''', was initiated, for the broader free and open-source developer community. In 2008, the second annual CommunityOne event was held on May 5.

In 2009, CommunityOne expanded to New York City (CommunityOne East, March 18-19) and to Oslo, Norway (CommunityOne North, April 15). The third annual CommunityOne in San Francisco (now called CommunityOne West), will taketook place from June 1-3, 2009, at The Moscone Center.

CommunityOne focuses on open-source innovation and implementation.
