Skoubo started his career in childhood club Struer. His career in Germany never took off, so Gladbach put him out on loan at [[England|English]] team [[West Bromwich Albion]], however he was back at Gladbach again after six months. In [[2004]] Danish top club [[Brøndby IF]] wanted to transfer Skoubo off of the German team, and he made a return to the Superliga.
