I have more doubts with respect to [http://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page Firebug], it's an inline (~sort of) editor and debugger Firefox extension, but javascript? Perhaps, but let's not forget that Firefox XUL engine supports XPCOM, so it can embed code in other languages besides JavaScript.
