Previously the platform was known by Reconfigurable Computing Environment. Since it has been open sourced the name changed to Remote Component Environment<ref>http://85www.114nohuddleoffense.139.201de/nohuddleoffense2009/09/19/remote-component-environment/?p=399</ref>.
