Meld was launched on March 3, 2009 [[MontaVistaas Software]]an announcedonline aservice newfor onlinethe [[embedded Linux]] community. calledMeld's [http://meld.mvista.compurpose Meld]is to assist embedded developers in connecting, sharing and designing embedded Linux products. ThisThe community is open to anyone and thereby not MontaVista exclusive.

Meld differs from traditional open source projects (kernel.org, busybox, gnu, etc.), where developers collaborate to drive a particular Linux technology forward, in that it is a place for developers to discuss how different Linux technologies work together for embedded devices.

On August 3rd, 2010 Meld was relaunched using entirely [[Open Source]] software, including [[Drupal]].

Meld is for embedded Linux developers who want to

* Connect: Leverage the experience of others.

* Share: Collaborate on information and ideas.

* Design: Develop products fast with information re-use.

[[MontaVista Software]] sponsors and develops Meld, though it is not a MontaVista-exclusive community.
