Sorting is a simpler concept, but is actually a more complex algorithm in terms of the actions involved and what they do. The sieve is easy: you just write the numbers down then cross them out. It's clear that it works, because when you cross out 2,4,6,8, you're removing all the multiples of 2. I think the explanation on [[Sieve of Eratosthenes]] could do with a rewrite though. Some 20% of the shopping mall people will be illiterate, but we're not dumbing down our long words here for them. We must make articles accessible to the ''intelligent'' lay-person. That means someone who can look up "prime" and "divides" and quickly grasp the concept. Like I said, it's 10-year old maths: I clearly remember doing it.
