== Biografia ==
NacqueTimothy Charles Buckley III nacque a [[Washington (distretto di Columbia)|Washington]], il [[14 febbraio]] del [[1947]], ma trascorse l'adolescenza in [[California]], ad [[Anaheim (California)|Anaheim]], e, successivamente, a [[Los Angeles]]<ref>http://www.sezionemusica.it/discografie/tim/tim%20buckley.htm</ref>. Durante il periodo delle scuole superiori, conobbe Larry Beckett, autore della maggior parte dei testi dei suoi primi brani. Il [[25 ottobre]] del [[1965]], a diciannove anni, sposò la compagna di scuola Mary Guibert, dalla quale, un anno più tardi, ebbe un figlio, [[Jeff Buckley]], anch'esso, negli anni '90, divenuto musicista.
Finita la scuola, cominciò a esibirsi in diversi club di Los Angels, in uno dei quali, venne notato da Jac Holzman, proprietario della [[Elektra Records]], che lo mise sotto contratto, permettendogli di pubblicare, nel dicembre del [[1966]], il suo primo LP, ''[[Tim Buckley (album)|Tim Buckley]]''.
